Friends of Nursing's December committee meeting at Baylor St. Luke's Medical Center's McNair Campus was an inspiration. Members got to meet Susie, the Nursing Simulation Center manikin, and analyze her health. Some members were very adept at starting an IV! From the insights shared by the young nursing residents in attendance to the hands-on demonstration of the equipment, it was easy to see how donor support is making a difference for our nursing team.

Recent nursing school graduate Deven Pierce recalled how the skills learned in the simulation center helped him handle a coding patient calmly and capably. As critical care nurse Taz Pemberton said about the center, "This gives us a safe place to practice."
